The Decoy T-3 Shrink Tube is an ideal solution for safeguarding and reinforcing the base of assist hooks. Designed to contract effectively using heat sources like dryers, it ensures both operational ease and optimal creation of original assist hooks. Available in various sizes – 3.5mm for pike #1 to #1/0, 4.0mm for pike #2/0 to #3/0, 4.5mm for catfish #2/0 to #4/0, 5.5mm for catfish #4/0 to #6/0, and 6.5mm for catfish #6/0 to #8/0 – though these guidelines can slightly vary based on assist line, base thickness, and shrink tube cutting. With a contraction initiation temperature exceeding 90 degrees, it achieves a specified shrinkage of around 115 degrees. While direct flame from lighters can also induce contraction, caution is advised to prevent heat damage and subsequent reduction in strength, especially for assist lines.
