About
The Teckel Honker is a topwater lure equipped with symmetrical twin blades modelled after the legs of frogs or waterfowl, rotating in opposite directions to churn the water and create loud, irregular metallic clacks that attract bass. It works beautifully on a straight retrieval like a buzzbait, with flashing blades and distinctive sound, and can also be made to sway its head side to side or produce a gentle, baby-waterfowl-like motion on a stop-and-go retrieve. Even in strong winds, the resistance of the blades helps maintain control for slow, deliberate presentations. A sharp jerk generates splash and swisher-like noise for added appeal, and long-stroke pulls keep the body from jumping out of the water, while the blades continue to sway enticingly during pauses to draw strikes.
